I had the pleasure of participating in the SuperSonic music festival. I was asked to provide mask workshops throughout the day, build masks, a puppet and parade float for drummers while there. Workshop participants created their own masks while assistants helped me create the larger masks and puppet. The procession led to an open plaza area where, like most of these, was more like a ceremony. We opened it with gratitude, asked for things from the four directions and then closed it up. It was a high energy event. The festival is really great with obscure bands and a more intimate vibe than most oversize festivals.
